Despite the setback, he continued to play, averaging 22.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the postseason. Speaking to CelticsBlog, Brown acknowledged that he is still weighing his options. He stated, “I got a lot of doctors I gotta get evaluated with—see the potential for surgery versus no surgery, wait to speak to the [Celtics] organization. For now, it’s just rest and recovery. I’m taking a step back from a long season. Mentally, it was a lot of stuff going on.”

Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens provided some optimism, noting that Brown’s knee is “in a good place structurally” and that rest could be beneficial. However, with evaluations still pending, the possibility of surgery remains on the table.

Brown’s injury adds another layer of uncertainty to Boston’s offseason. The Celtics are already dealing with the loss of Jayson Tatum, who suffered a ruptured Achilles and is expected to miss most or all of next season.
