Introduction

Formula 1 has officially revealed its 2026 race schedule, marking the beginning of a new era with updated regulations and a fresh generation of cars. The season will feature 24 Grands Prix, spanning five continents, with Melbourne, Australia, hosting the season opener on March 6-8 and Abu Dhabi concluding the championship on December 4-6.

Major Changes in the 2026 Calendar

The 2026 season introduces several key changes:

  • Madrid Grand Prix Debut – Spain will now host two races, with Madrid joining Barcelona on the schedule. Madrid’s race is set for September 11-13, bringing F1 action to the streets of the Spanish capital for the first time.
  • Monaco Grand Prix Moves to June – Breaking tradition, the iconic Monaco Grand Prix will take place on June 5-7, instead of its usual May slot.
  • Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix Dropped – Italy’s Imola circuit has been removed from the calendar, marking the end of an era for one of F1’s most historic tracks.
  • Sustainability Focus – The 2026 season will introduce 100% sustainable fuels and lighter, more efficient cars, aligning with F1’s push for environmental responsibility.
